STEP 2 — PHONE FOLLOW-UP CALL (2–4 Business Days After Email)

🎯 Call Objective

Confirm the prospect received the email, verify they saw the speaking services page, qualify their event needs, and book a discovery call with C.W. Zev (or collect the booking inquiry on the spot).

SECTION A — Opening (Confirm Receipt of Email)

You: "Hi, may I speak with [Contact Name]?"

Contact: "This is [Contact Name]."

You: "Hi [Contact Name], my name is [Your Name] with Zev Training. I sent you an email a few days ago introducing C.W. Zev as a potential speaker for one of your upcoming events. I'm calling to confirm you received it — did you happen to see that email come through?"

If YES — saw the email/page:

"Great, thank you for taking a look. I'll keep this brief — I know you're busy. Based on what you saw on the speaking page, do you have any upcoming events where a keynote or workshop speaker might be a fit?"

If YES — received but didn't open/review yet:

"No problem at all, I know inboxes get full. The email includes a link to our speaking page at zevtraining.com/speaking-services — it has his signature topics, event types, video, and testimonials. While I have you, can I ask a couple of quick questions to see if there's a fit?"

If NO — didn't receive / not sure:

"No worries — let me give you the quick version. C.W. Zev is a nationally recognized motivational and corporate keynote speaker. He's delivered over 500 events, has a 100% rebooking rate, and speaks on mindset, sales psychology, leadership, stress management, and team growth. I'll resend the email right after this call so you have the link to his speaking page. In the meantime, can I ask you a couple of quick questions about your event plans?"

SECTION B — Qualifying Questions

Ask 2–4 of the following, depending on the conversation flow:

  1. "Do you have any events coming up in the next 3–6 months where you'll be bringing in a speaker?"
  2. "What type of event is it — a corporate conference, sales kickoff, leadership retreat, wellness event, or something else?"
  3. "Roughly how many people will be in the audience?"
  4. "Is there a particular theme or focus for the event this year?"
  5. "Have you booked a speaker for this event before, or is this a new initiative?"
  6. "Who else is involved in the speaker selection decision — is it just you, or is there a committee?"

Listen for:

  • Event type → match to C.W. Zev's event types (corporate keynotes, sales kickoffs, leadership retreats, wellness events, public seminars)
  • Audience size → confirms the engagement scale
  • Theme → match to one of the 6 signature topics
  • Timeline → urgency and booking window
  • Decision-maker → who else needs to be in the loop

SECTION C — Topic Matching (Tailor to Their Event)

Based on their event type and theme, match them to the most relevant signature topic:

If sales event / sales kickoff:

"That's a perfect fit for C.W. Zev's most requested talk — The Seller's Mindset. It covers the psychology behind elite sales performance — why most salespeople lose before they ever pick up the phone, and how to fix it. It's one of his highest-rated presentations."

If leadership retreat / corporate conference:

"That aligns well with Teamwork & Business Growth — building high-performance cultures where people align around a shared mission, hold each other accountable, and execute with precision. Or, if the focus is more on the individual leaders, Mindset & Self-Image is his signature talk on transforming limiting beliefs and building rock-solid self-image."

If wellness event / HR initiative:

"That's exactly what Stress & Anxiety Management is built for — proven tools for managing workplace stress and anxiety while maintaining peak performance. It's one of his most requested talks for corporate wellness programs."

If goal-setting / annual planning event:

"That maps directly to Setting Goals & Focus — a practical, psychology-backed framework for setting goals that actually get achieved, and the mindset disciplines to stay the course. It's ideal for kickoffs and annual planning meetings."

If executive / leadership / longevity-focused event:

"That's a great fit for The Longevity Mindset — how top performers extend their careers, energy, and impact by aligning daily habits with long-term physical and mental vitality. It's designed for executive and leadership audiences."

If general / all-audience event:

"C.W. Zev's most versatile talk is Mindset & Self-Image — it transforms limiting beliefs and builds the rock-solid self-image that powers every area of success, personally and professionally. It works for any audience and is fully customizable to your event theme."

SECTION D — Value & Proof (Reinforce Credibility)

You: "A few quick things that set C.W. Zev apart from other speakers:

  • He's delivered over 500 events with a 100% rebooking rate — organizations bring him back.
  • Every talk is preceded by a discovery call so the message is customized to your audience, industry, and event theme — no generic speeches.
  • He uses the Proprietary Focused Mind 7-Step System — a results-driven framework, not just motivation.
  • He's available in-person, virtual, or hybrid, whatever works for your format.

One of his recent clients — Sandra K., VP of HR at a Fortune 500 — said his keynote at their annual leadership summit was rated the #1 session of the day by 400 attendees."

SECTION E — The Ask (Book the Discovery Call or Submit Inquiry)

Option 1 — Direct to discovery call (preferred):

"Based on what you've shared, I think there could be a great fit. The next step is a short discovery call with C.W. Zev himself — he'll learn about your event, your audience, and your objectives, and then put together a custom proposal. Would you be open to scheduling a 15–20 minute discovery call this week or next?"

If yes → Schedule the call on the spot. Offer to send a calendar invite. Direct them to zevtraining.com/BookSession to pick a time, or take their preferred day/time and confirm.

Option 2 — Submit a speaking inquiry (if they need to check with others):

"I completely understand. What I can do is send you a link to our speaking inquiry form — it takes about two minutes to fill out, and once you submit it, we'll follow up within 24 hours with availability and a custom proposal. You can find it at zevtraining.com/speaking-services — scroll to the booking section. Shall I text or email you that link right now?"

If yes → Send the link via email or text immediately. Confirm their email/phone.

Option 3 — Send a proposal first (if they're further along):

"Absolutely. Tell me a bit more about your event — the date, location, audience size, and budget range — and I'll have C.W. Zev's team put together a custom speaking proposal for you. What's the best email to send that to?"

SECTION F — Handling Objections

"We already have a speaker booked."

"Great to hear you have someone lined up. Would it be alright if I follow back up for your next event cycle? Many of our clients book 3–6 months in advance, and I'd love to keep C.W. Zev on your radar. What's your typical event planning cycle — annual, quarterly?"

"We don't have budget for a speaker right now."

"I understand — budgets can be tight. Just so you have the information, C.W. Zev's engagements range from intimate executive briefings to large convention keynotes, and we have options for virtual presentations that are more budget-friendly. Would it be helpful if I sent over a one-page overview with pricing ranges so you have it for future planning?"

"We handle speakers internally / we use our own people."

"That makes sense for a lot of organizations. The value of bringing in an outside speaker like C.W. Zev is the fresh perspective — he brings 25 years of cross-industry experience and a proprietary mindset system that internal teams typically don't have access to. Would you be open to a short 15-minute discovery call just to see if there's a fit, even for a future event?"

"Send me some information and I'll get back to you."

"Happy to. I'll resend the email with the speaking page link right after this call — it has his topics, video, testimonials, and the booking form. Two quick questions so I can tailor what I send: what type of event are you considering, and what's your approximate timeline?"

"I'm not the right person for this."

"No problem at all — who would be the best person to speak with about event planning or speaker selection? I'd be happy to reach out to them directly, or if you'd prefer to forward my email, I can resend it to you right now."

"We've never used an outside speaker before."

"That's actually why a lot of organizations reach out to C.W. Zev. He makes it easy — there's a pre-event discovery call, he handles all the customization, and he provides post-event resources so your audience has action items they can use immediately. Would it be worth a 15-minute call to explore what that could look like for your team?"
